This is the story of how my hubby and I took an unplanned and somewhat haphazard hike to Hanging Lake in Colorado. Located just outside of Glenwood Springs, this short hike is visited by thousands of hikers each year. Your dog (they are forbidden from the trail and the lake), fishing gear or swim wear. Making it to the top will take your breath away! Hanging Lake is a stunning hike that begins in Glenwood Canyon. Camping: There are not any solid camping options near Hanging Lake, seek alternative lodging/camping spots. Although winter hiking will see similar trail conditions to the summer, the amount of ice, especially near Hanging Lake itself can be very tricky to deal with without microspikes or some kind of foot traction.
